History

Wickenburg Ducks in a Row Foundation became incorporated on July 28, 2005.

Initial goals of the foundation were to provide independent housing for adults with disabilities who live in the Wickenburg area; start a workshop to help provide jobs for adults with disabilities start an adaptive recreational group and start a parent support group.

The Advisory Council to the Arizona Governor's Council on Developmental Disabilities helped Wickenburg Ducks in a Row Foundation organize an adaptive recreational program for people with developmental disabilities and is monitoring the program plus using the program as a pilot project for other rural communities in
Maricopa County, Arizona.

Because of restricted funds the Foundation was unable to provide housing and staff. The Department of Developmental Disabilities for the State of Arizona became aware of the Foundation's situation and provided an expansion of a group home in Wickenburg. AmeriServe International, Inc has been chosen as the agency to service the expansion of a group home and has leased a home for four adult men in Wickenburg.  Wickenburg Ducks in a Row Foundation is applying for the Viola Wellik Grant to help support an adaptive recreational program for special needs persons in Wickenburg, AZ.
